Another Day... Another Card

Here's the card I've been working on for my SIL... yesterday was the card, today I made the envie. I made a double of this card to submit... you never know!

I got my Scrapbook Star T-shirt today, too cool! I also FINALLY got my circle journal back. The last person had it for MONTHS and she didn't even do an entry. I was pretty disappointed, not to mention the cover is now cracked... guess that's the postal service for ya! I will def. think twice before embarking on a new CJ project. The concept is great... but when it goes bad... it sucks!

AC & DC

I'm so glad the AC at the store is finally working. Today is super humid so opening the door would have done more harm then good!

Last night we went to see the opera, Aida... it was good, but LONG. It was almost midnight by the time we got out of there! There's was a CD store next to the hall, so I got to buy my Dixie Chicks CD, and I got The Wreckers too, so I'm pleased as pie.

Here's a page I managed to do on Sunday, love doing 8x8 pages things just get done so much faster! (crooked scan!)

Today was just one of those days...

1) Fought all morning with Brendan
2) Poured astringent on my contacts insteads of solution...
3) Wore pants to work that had a huge hole in the crotch... tried to tape it shut... didn't really work! (LOL)
4) Dumped my whole bag of chips upside down on the floor
5) Knocked my iced cappuccino into the planter next to my desk

Thank goodness tomorrow is another day :)

Waking up on the wrong side of the bed

Man. This morning I was in a FOUL mood. I can't find my new sweatpants. I have to be honest, i'm not the neatest person in the world. Most of my clean clothes is either in a small basket on the floor or in the dryer. Well the other day Brendan decided to put all my clean clothes from on top of the dryer in my TINY basket on the floor. It obviously overflowed and now there's "clean" clothes everywhere... which will have to be washed again cause they're on the floor. In this mountain of clothes is my new pair of sweatpants, that I was going to wear to take a walk this morning. Well I can't find them for the life of me. I'm looking and looking, and moving clothes (and a bed spread that for some reason apparently belongs on the floor on my side of the bed) and they can't be found. So I start slamming doors and huffing and puffing, B and I have a huge fight and I storm out.

I go for a walk, shorter then I had intended because I'm in a mood now... go back home, we argue some more and this continues for the next hour... then it's off to work. I hate feeling mad, but I know if the situation had been reversed and I had dumped two loads of laundry in a basket not big enough for 1 load that he would have been PISSED and all hell would have broken loose... ANYWAYS...
Last night was his concert, the last of the season. I was messing around with my camera all night, not keeping it on automatic, playing with the settings and in the end I screwed up most of the photos... good for me.

Ugh. So tonight I decided to take on the task of fixing up my blog
Well i'm still not happy with it
I got a great font and digi stamps from The Shabby Shoppe (give credit where credit is due y'all!)
I'll keep "fixing" it tomorrow... UGH

Friday, Friday...

Ah Friday. It's a relief. Although the store is busier over the weekend, there's no deliveries (I've got my share of surprises this week... such as the UPS guy "I have 10 boxes for you)
Having a nice crop tonight, i hope to maybe hide in the back and work ;)
My Mind's Eye has a DT call out, I think I want to try, these calls always get me working on pages, and then I never send them in ;)
The windows at the store were washed today. For some reason that makes me happy. Nice and clean, it's pretty cheap too, only 5$ to do the 3 HUGE windows. I hope everyone has a great weekend, sorry for the boring posts, I keep forgetting my camera (gasp!)

pS - I have a friend in the hospital who could really use thoughts, prayers and whatever other good vibe sending methods you believe in! So please think of her and her family for me!

As preachy as I will get...

"God will never give you more than you can handle"
Don't ask me what religion am I, for that I don't have a straight answer. But ask me if I believe in God and without hesitation I will say yes. I think over my short life to date, I have made up my own faith, a combination of all the holidays and celebrations we took part in while growing up. My kids will be good and confused. That quote above has so much more meaning to me lately. Even if you don't believe in God, you have to accept that no matter what life throws at you, there are ways to deal... lean on a friend, lean on family, but giving up is never the answer.

Taking the Long Way

Another Monday come and almost gone. Brendan was around most of the day which is nice. Our groceries are done for the week, etc.
Tomorrow is Tuesday... not just any Tuesday, but the 23rd... the day the new Dixie Chicks album is released. I am so excited, I've been waiting for years for this... literally. I keep all their other CDs at work, and have been listening to a preview of the album all day. I really, really suggest you listen to the title track, Taking the Long Way, it's a great song. They're going to be in Canada in the fall, and I would just LOVE to go see them. Nothing could top last time when we had floor seats, 7 rows from the stage... I would settle for nosebleed seats this time, just to get to go!

Cards, Cards, Cards

Lately, I've been addicted to making cards. I don't know why... maybe because they're quick and fun... and pretty... here's one I made today, I *heart* chatterbox papers for cards (not so much for pages!) I used the "Thanks" stamp from the "You're the Best" set by Hero Arts and Dusty Concord ink by Tim Holtz. Thanks for looking!

Rain and other complaints

I think it's been raining for a week. Seriously... a week... which sucks. Last week I was so motivated to start jogging, and then it rains. Maybe it's a sign!

So who watched American Idol last night? Those votes where close. I read somewhere that someone thought they weren't the real amounts and that the producers are just trying to create drama (if that's the case boy did it work, I thought I was going to have a heart attack)

So Elliot went home... which is sad, cause they really set it up so that everyone felt sorry for him. Don't get me wrong,he's got an awesome voice but the whole deaf in one ear/diabetic/mama's boy thing really had a few people in tears

It's supposed to rain for a few more days... so expect more complaing from me ;)

Ouch!

Yesterday I had an appointment with a dermatologist... and I had a certain feature of mine removed.
Lets see if you notice what it is next time you see me ;)

Mother's day... should be a happy day surrounded by family.
My mom chose to spend it on the other side of the country...
My grandma is so out of it she doesn't even know it's Mother's Day...
My father's mom, has been dead over 11 years now, I went to the cemetary today to "talk" to her. It makes me sad to think all she'll miss. I miss her so much. I wish she could have met Brendan, seen my store, be there for my wedding... Guess that's why I'm in such a rush, I want to make sure as many of my loved ones are there as possible... My dad has heart problems, my grandmother... well see above.
If it's going to happen eventually, why not sooner then later?
Why can't you let me have this one?
Bet you're not even reading this, LOL...

Rainy Friday

I don't really mind the rain, when it's on days that I'm working.
On Mondays though... no rain please!
I've got a head ache, have since I woke up this morning... ugh.
Made a few blog changes, added a "Quote of the Day" thingie down the side there, and links to blogs I read all the time. If I forgot you let me know... OMG the sound of my typing is hurting my HEAD...
Aside from that can't complain ;) This week has gone by fast, which is fun... lots of new and some familiar faces in the store, which is also good!

Tomorrow is V's baby shower! Very fun!
The tomorrow night we're going to Milsa for my Dad's birthday. Hope he likes it... 10 kinds of all you can eat meat, they walk around and serve it to you! Giant skewers of all you can eat meat... not a resto for veggies.

My article wasn't in the Chronicle (west-end edition) this week, supposed to be next Wednesday. Please keep your eye out for that!

So what's new?

Well it's been a while since I blogged... lets see...

I finally did last week's dare... but don't have the time or inspiration for this week's...
NSD was a blast, lots of fun was had by all
My day off was rocking, I did lots of walking, and shopping... and went to the salon
I dyed my hair back to dark brown although no one has really noticed... but I guess that's a good thing
It's Tuesday so I'm back at the store, thinking about my next day off!
My mom is out of town again, shocking huh?
I'm going to the Run for the Cure, a 5km run to raise $$ for Breast Cancer... the Run is in October, we'll be doing lots of fundraising before then though!

That's a summary of my boring life...

Being bad is sometimes... bad...

I'm not supposed to eat dairy... especially when i'm stressed out... and today seemed pretty stressful, especially for my day off!! I had to get out of the house tonight so I took a walk and got myself some Ben and Jerry's... a Core Sundae... so that's 2 flavors of ice cream (in this case heath bar crunch and chocolate mint chuck) with a pool of hot fudge in the middle, topped with whipped cream and sprinkles :)
