No Surprise to Anyone...

I got Dixie Chicks tickets!
They added a date... August 12... the day before my birthday!!!
We bought pre-sale tickets yesterday, floor seats, I'm SO EXCITED!!!
I'm going to save my pennies to buy a concert shirt! It's all so exciting... i'm so excited... etc. etc. etc.

What else is new... working on a new project... not sure if anything will come of it... but as always I like to give things a try before I give up!! Hahaaa... haa.. ha... oy.

Tomorrow is father's day... and I want to make the PERFECT cards for my FIL and my Dad... That's where Elisabeth comes in... she's been busy scanning a template for me... I'll show you the cards if I ever finish them... this might be a LONG process... Thanks Elisabeth!

So as my plate gets fuller and fuller, and I get busier and busier, I leave you with these words:

"Well I never seem to do it like anybody else, maybe someday, someday I'm gonna settle down. If you ever want to find me, I can still be found... taking the long way, taking the long way around"

Email obsession...

Ok. I know. I've been neglecting my blog. But really... let's be honest. Who's reading it anymore? Do I really have time for this? (Old Blog title)
Lets see what's exciting with me:
1) I check my email about a zillion times a day, in hope of receiving a request for a page. My only layout to ever get picked up, for Legacy, was via email...
2) Dixie Chicks added a tour date... Montreal... the DAY BEFORE MY BIRTHDAY!!!! Brendan is going to try to get me tickets as a gift... if not, I'll just sit at home and cry... it's fine ;)
3) Started working on my nephew's baby book... only have one page semi-done, not sure where to go from there (and now I have "where do we go from here" from the Buffy musical "Once more with Feeling" stuck in my head)
4) Took some nostalgic pictures of where I sort of grew up... near my grandmother's old apartment... hope to do a BH sketch with it... Maybe January's... seems manageable.
5) Nothing else very exciting. Just taking a coffee break... I deserve one... Right? RIGHT??? (Yes I'm a little anxious today)
Hope the sun is shinning where ever you are! Enjoy your Thursday evening my desserted blog readers!

Sometimes it just hits you.

In the mornings I'm often in a bad bood. I hate waking up, I hate being rushed, I hate the fact that I always sleep in... I hate the fact there's only one sink in the bathroom and that I'm always in the way... or Brendan's in my way.

I get to work, at 10 sharp... a bad habit, open up shop and in walks this woman "My page needs help" so she pulls out a 2 page layout with colors and shapes galour. After about an hour of pullings things off and covering things up she said "You saved my page" She went on her way happy, I sat around sipping my cofffee feeling like I had accomplished something.

When people ask how the store is doing I say "Can't complain" and really I can't. Things are going well, I enjoy teaching and helping customers, entering inventory, working on the displays... I am really, really lucky to be doing what I'm doing. Once in a while it just hits me. I have my own business, I'm madly in love, I have a roof over my head and good friends... I can't complain.

Not so bright eyed today

Ok, i'm exhausted. I feel like i didn't sleep last night, like my eyes are still half shut. Maybe I should make a coffee... my problem is if I have one, i'll have the whole pot. I'm thinking that might be a good idea.
I have to go make some thank you cards now... that should keep me entertained and hopefully awake...

The Wobble Board

Tired, in a good way.

Yesterday was a good day...

  • I went to Canadian Tire to get earth, flowers and my wobble board
  • I got fruits & veggies... didn't make it to the store for tofu ice cream though :(
  • I did get to the pharmacy (not the bank or post office... that'll be for today....)
  • DID MY TAXES
  • Didn't clean the office mind you....

Found this great fruit and veggie store, lots of really fresh, great priced stuff there.... def. my new fav. Also saw "Over the Hedge" with Ava. Cute movie... I think my favorite character was Verne, the turtle. I can't resist cute turtles! What else... what else... oh yes, for those of you wondering what a wobble board is, here is a picture: (Ok well blogger wont upload it... so here's a link

What does Monday mean to you?

Ah Monday. I'm probably the only person in the world who wakes up on Monday and feels refreshed. It's my one day off, the entire week. No really a complaint though, I like what I got ;)
It's a beautiful day out, and I'm very thankful for that. I have lots of errands to run and things to get done, and the sun will hopefully keep me motivated. I'll probably take a nice walk around, pick up some fruits and veggies, head to the natural food store to pick up some tofu ice cream (Look... I wouldn't eat it, if I didn't have to!!!)

I'm glad I didn't sleep too late, I think I also want to plant some flowers on our balcony... here's my list of things I'd like to do today:

1) Go to Canadian Tire, get flowers & earth (and my wobble board)
2) Buy fruits & veggies for the week, get some healthy dairy alternatives
3) Go to the bank, pharmacy, & post office
4) tackle my taxes
5) Cleaning my office would be a "bonus"

What's on your plate for today?

For a change

People often say "You don't scrapbook Brendan very often" I reported this "complaint" to him and he said it's because he doesn't like to have his picture taken. When I got my new camera he was my main "target" and he kept saying "Don't take my picture" over and over... i got quite a few "bad" shots of him. Thank goodness for the Effers and this week's dare, to scrapbook your bad pages. So here it is, the best recent picture I have of B

Friday again... and the new smoking law...

It seems like the weeks are just flying by.
It's already June... infact June 2nd! I honestly don't know where the past 5 months have gone.
The new smoking law has taking into effect in Quebec. I think it's great on one hand, but on the other... my store is right next to a tiny-little- hole-in-the-wall restaurant that has it's group of nothing-better-to-do-with-all-of-our-free-time patrons. They all smoke, and now they smoke outside. So this morning when I got to the store I got out my broom and swept all of the cig butts infront of the resto's door. I think this isn't going to be an isolated case, people are going to be forced to gather outside and smoke and I think we're going to see an increase in littering... which is not very impressive. Hopefully if I continue to sweep everyone morning, I'll get my point across... the sidewalk isn't one big ash tray!!!

Today is Abby's Bat Mitzvah... remember that beautiful card I made with the matching beautiful envie? Well turns out I measured something wrong and the beautiful card doesn't fit in the beautiful envie! Smooth huh ;)

That's all for now, hope everyone has a super weekend!!!

Clean and Quick

Well this page was "clean" until I dropped a stamp on the white cardstock and had to make do...

Zzzzz....

Last night I wanted to be in bed by 11 pm. Didn't happen. Finally turned off the TV around 12:30 am then the alarm went off at 7am. I then realized Brendan never came to bed last night. He was up late working a project due today at work... but still...
We went out for breakfast with my MIL and her husband this morning. I was in a bad mood. Tired, hungry (this resto makes bad breakfast and bad coffee) It was bundles of fun, and I'm sure I was just a joy to be with (NOT) A rainy day here... hopefully the sun will come up and make me smile!
